I bought a Groupon for two people to eat breakfast/lunch with a drink at Cafe Bisqui for $16.15 (supposed to be $19 but I usually only buy from Groupon when there are 15% coupon codes available) and went there with a friend for a meal before watching The Beauty Inside. The location was very convenient as it's at 130 Flinders Street which is quite close to Flinders Street Railway Station.
The staff were friendly (and Korean which I found out by eavesdropping their conversation) and when there was a problem with another customer's food, they remade it for her.
My friend and I both ordered iced coffee for the drink. I'd heard from my mum that iced coffee in Australia comes with ice cream but hadn't believed her. Turns out it's true! In Korea iced coffee is exactly what the name suggests: ice + coffee.
I'd never eaten Eggs Benedict or Eggs Florentine before but had always wanted to try it out. I chose Eggs Florentine because I don't eat bacon. The taste was quite a new taste to me (maybe a bit like carbonara because of the egg). There was just too much egg though (Hollandaise sauce + poached egg) which left me wanting to eat something hot/spicy like kimchi. I should've ordered French Toast instead! (Not that the Eggs Florentine tasted bad, since I don't know how it's usually supposed to taste, just that I personally didn't like it much)
My friend ordered lasagne. She said it tasted quite nice but kind of dry.
Overall, was not a bad meal for just over $8 per person. But would I go there without a voucher? Probably not, mostly because I don't usually go to these kind of places in general. And there are always going to be newer business providing similar deals through Groupon, Scoopon and the like. There's always going to be a cheap deal around somewhere, so why pay full price?
The movie on the other hand (The Beauty Inside), I really enjoyed.
